Find Clark County Booking Photos

Clark County jail mugshots are tied to the booking record, not to a separate photo gallery. A search for Clark County booking photos usually starts with the public jail roster and then moves to the sheriff records request process if the image is missing or the person is no longer shown online. Booking photos may appear with custody details, charges, and public profile fields, but not every record displays a photo. Find Clark County jail mugshots by confirming the custody channel first and treating the photo as one part of the booking record.

Clark County Jail Mugshots Overview

Clark County does not publish a separate official recent-bookings mugshot gallery or daily booking-photo PDF in the sources reviewed. The public route is INjail Public Access. Its public frontend includes a mugshot component and a no-mugshot fallback image, which means some public inmate profiles can display a booking photo while others may show no photo. The roster should be read as a jail record view, not as a promise that every person has a visible image.

Booking photos are created during intake. They sit beside other booking details, such as name, county, booking number, booked-on date, arresting agency, demographics, booking charges, public cases, holds, and release status when those fields are available. For more general custody lookup help, use Clark County inmate records. For charge status after the prosecutor files a case, use Clark County court records after jail arrest.

Where Clark County Booking Photos Appear

The first check is INjail Public Access. Search by name, select Clark in the county field, and open the public profile if a match appears. If the profile has a booking-photo area, it may show either the photo or the no-photo fallback. If the person was released, search with the Released Between fields. If the photo is not online, use the sheriff records-request process rather than a commercial mugshot site.

  1. Open INjail Public Access and search by last name.
  2. Select Clark in the county dropdown.
  3. Use birth date, booking range, or release range to narrow the result.
  4. Open the profile and check whether a mugshot component displays a photo.
  5. If no photo is shown, file a Clark County Sheriff's Office public-records request for the booking photograph or booking record.

Clark County Mugshot Record Fields

A mugshot should not be read apart from the record around it. The public profile fields are what identify the booking event and reduce the risk of confusing two people with similar names. Direct profile sampling was blocked by tokenized access, so the field inventory below comes from the public INjail frontend components documented in the research.

Are Clark County Jail Mugshots Public?

Indiana APRA makes many public-agency records available for inspection and copying unless a law allows or requires withholding. The Clark County Sheriff's Office records form cites IC 5-14-3 and allows requesters to seek booking, arrest, jail, bond, and other record categories. Indiana jail standards also require inmate-record information to be kept, including booking number, intake date and time, identity, commitment authority, charges, bail or bond, release, and transfer details unless prohibited by statute.

Key Statutes and Rules:

IC 5-14-3 is Indiana's Access to Public Records Act and is cited by the sheriff records form.

IC 5-14-3-4 allows or requires withholding for certain confidential, investigatory, juvenile, medical, or security-sensitive records.

210 IAC 3-1-6 requires Indiana county jails to record inmate intake and custody information unless release is barred.

Request a Clark County Booking Photo

If a booking photo does not appear in INjail, the official fallback is the Clark County Sheriff's Office records-request page or its direct embedded form. The form includes a Booking checkbox and lets the requester describe the records sought. Ask for a booking photograph or booking record, include the person's name, any case or inmate number, the incident date, and the arrest or booking details known. The sheriff form says records are available for inspection at the sheriff's records division and can be mailed, with government copying fees possible when mailed copies are requested.

Request language should stay specific. A broad request for all photos or all jail records can slow review and may reach protected material. A clearer request asks for the booking photograph tied to a named person, a known booking date, and a known Clark County Jail booking or case number if available. The form also allows related arrest and jail categories, such as identifying information, charges, arrest circumstances, the reason for jail placement, the time received into custody, the time discharged or transferred, and the bond amount if fixed.

The Clark County Sheriff's Office public-records request page is shown below from the manifest capture.

That request path is the records-based way to ask for a booking photo that is not visible in the public roster.

What Clark County Does Not Publish

The research did not locate an official Clark County mugshot-removal policy, a daily mugshot gallery, or a fixed public retention window for booking photos. It also did not confirm that every INjail public profile displays a photo. Records can be withheld or redacted when they are confidential, juvenile, sealed, medical, mental-health, security-sensitive, or otherwise protected. A no-photo result can mean the photo is not public in that view, not that no booking record exists.

The same limit applies after a transfer. A person moved from Clark County Jail to IDOC, BOP, ICE, another county, or another hold may no longer be shown the same way in the county jail roster. IDOC, BOP, and ICE locators are custody-location tools, not Clark County booking-photo galleries. VINE and SAVIN can help with custody or case alerts, but they do not publish a county mugshot feed.

What is and is not public: Public roster fields may include a booking photo area, charges, demographics, and status. Protected details, sealed records, and security-sensitive material are not public roster content.

Mugshot Removal and Expungement

Indiana expungement and sealing procedures are handled through the courts, mainly under IC 35-38-9. A dismissal, acquittal, or eligible conviction does not automatically remove every booking photo from every place it may have appeared. For Clark County records, the practical official route is to address the court record through the court and any sheriff-held booking record through the sheriff records unit. Do not pay a commercial mugshot-removal site as a substitute for checking the official court and sheriff process.

Federal and ICE Mugshot Limits

Federal and immigration custody do not follow the same public-photo pattern as a county jail roster. The BOP inmate locator is for federal custody and many historical federal releases, but it is not a mugshot gallery. ICE ODLS identifies immigration custody through A-number and country-of-birth search or biographical search, but it is also not a booking-photo site. Clark County Jail may house ICE detainees under ICE arrangements, yet the ICE lookup path and county booking-photo path remain separate.

The ICE Clark County Jail facility page is one of the sources showing that immigration custody can use the same local jail building.
